'Susan Boyle still a winner'
The BBC reports that Scottish first minister Alex Salmond feels Susan Boyle's still a winner, despite coming second in TV show Britain Got Talent. "In my eyes and in Scotland's eyes she's a winner," said First Minister Alex Salmond. Scottish Secretary Jim Murphy said he had voted for her and described her as "a brave and brilliant talent". Susan Boyle was beaten in the public vote by Diversity, a street dance group from Essex.Susan Boyle became an international singing sensation after first performing I Dreamed A Dream in the contest, a song she reprised for the final. Her performances have attracted millions of hits on Youtube and led to an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show. Despite the fact that she was the favourite to win the talent contest, the church volunteer missed out on the £100 000 prize and a chance to perform before the Queen at the Royal Variety Show. "I think her performance was a triumph," said Salmond. "So in my eyes, in Scotland's eyes, she's a winner. I suspect there's a big career beckoning for Susan isn't there?"

I do not think that a candidate at the age of 40 plus should participate at a talent scout. For example Susan Boyle at Britain’s Got Talent. She does not look like a star and cannot sing like one. And above all that she can’t even handle all the attention. After she was defeated she was admitted to a private clinic for treatment for exhaustion. All I want to say is that I think we should pay more attention to young talents instead of the elderly. The older ones are just too late. Why should you wait 40 years to show your talent…?

you are a bit unforgiving, aren't you?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI think that people shouldnot look for a person can entertain the audience. That's what Susan Boyle did. Entertaining people without knowing it. Even though she has a nice voice, people made fun of her. I think that programmemakers point these kind of people out to entertain the audience, which should stop.
